If you've found yourself in a holiday food coma or in a broken workout regimen (or both), don't be too hard on yourself. It happens. But the sooner you get back into the swing of things, the better you'll feel. Promise! Just follow these simple steps. Step 1: Don't Make Excuses It's easy to get into the mindset of ‘well I've already taken a break for 4 weeks, what's another week or two?' Don't do it. Re-establish your healthy habits as quickly as possible so they become second nature to you again. Step 2: Get Rid Of It Ditch the holiday sweets or any other unhealthy items lingering in your house. You don't need the temptation, and neither does anyone else living with you. Bring leftover treats to work, making sure to leave them in an area you don't hang around in. No doubt your coworkers will appreciate the surprise, so it's a win-win all around. Step 3: Visit The Supermarket Stock up on staples like fruits, veggies, healthy fats, and lean proteins only. Make it harder for yourself to access junk food by not keeping it in the house. Chances are, you'll be less likely to pick up chips or cookies if a separate run to the market is needed in order to get them. Step 4: Head To The Box Look at our schedule and pick a class that's at a realistic time for you. If you're not an early bird, don't choose the early classes for your comeback. The best thing you can do for yourself is to attend the one that doesn't require significant changes to your schedule. If you want to switch up the time of day you attend class, consider doing it after you've already re-established regular visits.
